Google Amankan 32 Nama Domain "Mirip Google"

 Google telah memenangkan gugatan sengketa terhadap 32 nama domain yang mirip dengan Google. Bagi Google, hal tersebut adalah kemenangan kecil tapi merupakan hal penting bagi keberlangsungan usahanya ke depan.

Selain itu, nama domain yang mirip nama domain Google ini dikhawatirkan disalahgunakan untuk kepentingan pribadi atau malah digunakan hacker untuk mencuri data. Dengan nama yang mirip, para pengguna Internet bisa saja tertipu dan secara tidak sadar telah masuk ke website bukan milik Google.

Seperti dilaporkan The Next Web, Google semula mengajukan keluhan kepada Forum Arbitrase Nasional terhadap pemilik nama domain yang menyerupai Google tersebut. Ternyata pemilik domain tersebut berada di Hongkong.

Akhirnya, Google berhasil menonaktifkan nama domain yang mirip tersebut pada 5 Januari lalu. Pada waktu yang sama, Google juga memenangkan lima gugatan terkait nama domain yang sama dengan YouTube.

Atas tindakan membuat domain yang mirip dengan Google tersebut, pemilik domain berdasarkan keputusan Forum Arbitrase Nasional harus menyerahkan nama domainnya ke Google segera. Terutama saat pemilik domain yang mirip ini gagal dalam menyampaikan tanggapan dalam sidang tersebut.

Dalam putusannya, Forum Arbitrase Nasional menegaskan semua domain yang mirip Google tersebut memenuhi tiga persyaratan untuk segera dikembalikan ke Google, berdasarkan peraturan Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Aturan tersebut adalah:

1. Nama domain yang terdaftar oleh responden terkesan identik, membingungkan atau mirip dengan merek dagang pemilik hak cipta
2. Responden tidak memiliki hak atau kepentingan yang sah dalam hal nama domain
3. Nama domain telah terdaftar dan digunakan untuk hal-hal yang buruk

"Menarik sekali mengamati bagaimana proses ilmiah mirakulin ketika menghalangi sensor rasa asam," kata Keiko Abe, seorang profesor biologi-kimia terapan di University of Tokyo.

Dia menambahkan bahwa efek buah tersebut merupakan hasil meminimalkan perubahan pH yang terjadi ketika mengkonsumsi makanan. Sebagai gantinya, lidah yang dilapisi jus miracle berry akan mengaktifkan sensor rasa manis dan menghambat rasa pahit dan asam.
